Images SalonSpa is all about helping our clients to look and feel their best and Dr. Barry Kusman with Facial Artistry mirrors that philosophy. 

We invite you to an Open House at Images SalonSpa where Dr. Kusman will answer all your questions regarding injectables and fillers such as Botox, Juvaderm, Restylane and Radiesse.  There will be hors d'oeuvres, drinks, prizes to raffle off (including gift baskets with Latisse, Juvederm, Radiesse, Moroccanoil and Eminence Organics) and a goodie bag for all who attend!

This is an Open House like no other - very informal, informational and a great time will be had by all. Dr. Kusman will give you information on how you can look more youthful and refreshed with his 30+ years of experience.  Questions are encouraged!  Bring a friend and let's have fun :-) There will be gift certificates to all attendees for future services.  Come see how Dr. Kusman's skill and exceptional bedside manner (the guy is seriously the sweetest and his work is excellent!) will have you going to Facial Artistry for years to come. Starbucks Gift Card & Fall Hair - Yes Please!!!

In my humble opinion, September in Tucson is less than ideal (to put it mildly).  The seasons don't change like they might elsewhere and fall is nowhere to be seen and is most definitely not felt.  Wearing a sweater, sipping on a hot beverage, sporting boots, curling up by a fire, seeing my breath in the cool morning air seems far away in the unrelenting heat & mosquito-infested evenings.

I was joking with a friend that the only thing fall in Tucson right now is that Starbucks is serving Pumpkin Spice Lattes.  And you know what?  You can get your hair into fall too and just maybe, with what we are offering, it can feel like fall for a day.  You are welcome :-)  You may have to get your Starbucks iced but whatever....

Teal Toes ~ September: Ovarian Cancer Awareness

It's that time again - time to bring Ovarian Cancer to the forefront through Teal Toes and here's how:

If you choose TEAL polish during the month of September at Images SalonSpa for your pedicure, you will receive $5 off your pedicure (typically $40 - Teal Toes price $35).  The goal is to shed light on this particular type of cancer.  We will have info on Ovarian Cancer and if anybody asks you about your toes or the color, this is your opportunity to educate others on the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer.  It's all about passing the invaluable information along and you never know if just by receiving a pedicure, deciding to go teal, and reading a few bullet points of info about this silent killer......you might be saving a life!

Here are the symptoms if you don't decide to participate in Teal Toes from the Teal Toes website:

Historically ovarian cancer was called the “silent killer” because symptoms were not thought to develop until the chance of cure was poor. However, recent studies have shown this term is untrue and that the following symptoms are much more likely to occur in women with ovarian cancer than women in the general population. These symptoms include:

• Bloating
• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
• Urinary symptoms (urgency or frequency)

Women with ovarian cancer report that symptoms are persistent and represent a change from normal for their bodies. The frequency and/or number of such symptoms are key factors in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Several studies show that even early stage ovarian cancer can produce these symptoms.

Women who have these symptoms almost daily for more than a few weeks should see their doctor, preferably a gynecologist. Prompt medical evaluation may lead to detection at the earliest possible stage of the disease. Early stage diagnosis is associated with an improved prognosis.

A Few of Our Favorite Things.....

We at Images LOVE the products we work with and sell.  There are quite a few products out there that are just 'eh' but some things just rock our world and here are a few of our favorites.....

1.  Moroccanoil - It's amazing.  It's gives your hair life, shine, smoothness and sass.  Yes, sass.  The smell - mmmmm, the smell.  I like to refer to it as intoxicating; because it is.  You can add it to your hair wet before you style or dry, but I prefer wet.  It won't weigh your hair down and it works wonders (comes in a light version for blondes too).  A product I can't and won't live without!

2.  Neuma Styling Gelee - It's a crowd pleaser that our male and female clients love!  A weightless gel that gives you flexible hold, volume, protects color and smooths out your hair.  Also acts as a heat protector and detangler: a true all-in-one!

3.  Eminence Organics Tropical Vanilla Face Cream SPF 32 - There are a few things that I look for in a day time moisturizer:  It needs to be moisturizing but not oily or overly hydrating, it has to have an SPF, the scent can't irritate me, it can't have parabens or mineral oils and it needs to make my skin feel fabulous.  Mission Accomplished!  AND it smells (gasp) like tropical vanilla - heavenly :)

4.  Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse - You want that hair; the hair that has just the right amount of body and it wouldn't it be nice if it could last throughout the day?  We have the product for you!  This stuff is amazing and it isn't your mom's mousse.  Great to style with a round brush when you want added lift and body.

5.  Neuma Smoothing Creme - It's this time of year when I love this product most.  I highlight my hair every spring and summer - highlighting, blow drying and flat-ironing leads to fly-aways......lots of them.  This product saves me.  Great for taming the frizzies too when you want to wash and go.  I would also like to mention that it smells like a creamsicle - derived from natural essential oils :)
